Course Description:
Through guided study, students will refine their creative process in developing a dance from idea/conception to concert performance. The culmination of this course for each student is to present their senior capstone choreography and produce the Emerging Choreographers: Senior Capstone Dance Concert held April 21 (Saturday) at 8PM and April 22 (Sunday) at 3PM in the Maggie Allesee Dance Studio. This concert represents the final choreographic project for students’ undergraduate degree in dance; therefore, the expectation is that the student will work to make these dances as finely crafted and fully realized as possible. Each student’s work should be at least eight minutes in length, but no longer than twelve minutes. Dance Education Option: Students pursuing dance education certification may elect to choreograph two separate works, with each being no less than four minutes in length. This concert may include emerging, invited guest choreographers agreed upon and approved by the instructor(s).
